Legend of Zelda: The Oracle of Ages is a 2001 action-adventure video game developed by Capcom for the Game Boy Color. It is the second game in the Oracle series and is set in the land of Labrynna. The game tells the story of Link, a young hero summoned by the Oracle of Ages, Nayru, to help her stop the wicked witch, Veran, from changing the course of Labrynna’s history.
Link must travel through different time periods, solving puzzles and defeating enemies, to collect eight Time Essences. These essences are needed to pave the way to Veran’s stronghold, where Link must defeat her to restore peace to Labrynna. Along the way, Link will meet various characters, including the wise old man Ralph and the mysterious thief Maple, who will provide him with information and support.
As with other games in the Zelda series, Oracle of Ages has a mix of action, adventure, and puzzle-solving elements. Link must use a variety of weapons and items, such as swords, bombs, and boomerangs, to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. The game also has a unique feature in which the player can use the Harp of Ages to travel between the present and the past. This allows the player to solve puzzles and access areas that are not currently present.
Oracle of Ages received generally positive reviews upon release, and is considered a classic in the Zelda series. It was well received for its challenging puzzles, engaging story, and ability to travel through time. It is also part of a dual game release with Oracle of Seasons, which is considered a bonus game.
